How is Five Quad VAS currently funded?
Five Quad Volunteer Ambulance Service is funded entirely by the University at Albany Office of Student Affairs.
This money covers operational expenses including:
fuel
maintenance of ambulances & equipment
medications and oxygen supply
radios
vehicle and agency insurance
vehicle registration
medical director and EMS director stipends
Miscellaneous expenses are funded through the Tribute Fund and Auxilliary Services. Previous purchases with this money include:
new office furniture
new uniforms
updated equipment
conference attendance
conference hosting

If you are a former member with photos or documents not present in the collection that you would like to donate, please reach out to fqambulance@gmail.com or corphistorianfivequad.org, or fill out the form by clicking the link above.
All content will be reviewed and posted at the discretion of the archive manager and their counsel.
Items accepted include:
Photographs
Copies of policies, bylaws, operational guidelines, meeting minutes
Typed testimonials recalling your own memories of Five Quad, speeches, etc
Copies of newspaper articles, newsletters, awards, and announcements
Police reports, some incident reports (many exceptions here)
Images of past uniforms, membership t-shirts/other clothing orders, patches, equipment
Some financial records and correspondence involving the agency's operation
Items NOT accepted:
Anything with HIPAA protected medical information, including PCRs
Anything involving representation of inappropriate behavior, foul language, drugs/alcohol, or misuse of University or Agency owned property
Anything that could compromise the safety or dignity of someone alive, including but not limited to: release of personal home addresses, SSN, student ID#, incident reports not already made public in the University Archive, personal medical information
Who maintains this archive?
This site was researched and created by Amanda Kimler, former Five Quad VP, Corps Historian, and crew chief (2015-2018), with the help and guidance of UAlbany Archivists.
Regular maintenance and review of this collection will be the ongoing responsibility of current officers of the organization, such as the Corps Historian or other designated member.
This is a free, volunteer effort, and no profits have been made in the process.
Where does all this content come from?
Everything available through this collection comes directly from alumni and members of the organization, as well as documents saved in the University at Albany Archive and other local news publications.
Everything shared was either already available for public access or donated with expressed consent, and great care has been taken to ensure the privacy and dignity of all individuals involved in these documents.
